Food is the only booth giveaway that reliably stops traffic, because it is the only one people want immediately. A bowl of branded candy outperforms a better pen every time.
What works on a show floor:
- Bowl candy — wrapped mints and chocolates for the stop-and-grab. Cheapest per interaction, no conversation required.
- Branded popcorn bags — large printed surface, low cost, and people carry them around the hall, which puts your logo in front of the room rather than just your booth.
- Snack packs with header cards — the step up, for qualified conversations rather than passers-by.
Two logistics points that decide whether this works. Ship to the show, not to your office — advance warehouse if the venue offers it, and check whether the venue restricts outside food, because some convention centres with exclusive catering contracts do. Order shelf-stable only, since booth materials sit in a hot loading dock for days.
Chocolate in a summer show is a known failure. Use hard candy or mints for anything between May and September.
